Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you use coconut oil in all your products?
It’s no secret, we love coconut oil. Coconut oil is one of nature’s great beauty elixirs. It is an excellent skin conditioner containing medium-chain triglycerides which deeply penetrate, moisturise and act as a protective barrier against the aging effects of environmental and free radical damage. It absorbs quickly and helps skin retain moisture, promotes skin elasticity and keeps it looking young and supple and radiant.
Because it is packed full of nutrients and fatty acids like lauric and capric acids and vitamins including vitamin K and E (an essential nutrient for skin and hair), coconut oil provides a rich supply of antioxidants and beneficial goodies for healthy, strong skin and hair.
Coconut oil also helps to promote protein hair regrowth by penetrating deep into each hair, getting past the cuticle, repairing and preventing damage from the inside out – making it stronger and leaving it thicker, fuller and shinier. For your information click on ‘Why we love coconut’
What’s special about your coconut oil?
After blind tasting many oils, we selected a premium oil that is bursting with fresh coconut taste and aroma. Coconut Tree use only pure, certified organic, unrefined oil has been produced from mature fresh coconuts harvested in the South Pacific. This Certified Organic (by NASAA) virgin coconut oil has been hand pressed and processed by Direct Micro Expelling (DME), an Australian technology enabling the fastest processing in order to retain the goodness of fresh coconuts. As it is untouched by heat or chemical treatment before, during or after pressing, every living enzyme and nutrient is left intact to nourish skin and hair.
Our coconut oil has been sourced from an Australian fair trade venture that gives profits back to the people who process the oil. This provides rural people in the South Pacific communities with meaningful employment, a regular income and better living standards.

What’s the story behind Coconut Tree?
I have always had a vested interest in health and wellbeing. Raised in Perth and spending my whole life in sunny beach locations across WA and Qld, I have had to balance my love of the sun and the surf with protecting my fair, sensitive skin.
I have always therefore been mindful of trying to protect and hydrate my skin from the effects of the Australian climate. My endless search for a brand I could trust to deliver what my skin and hair needed without the use of harsh and toxic ingredients …and that I could afford to use daily, led me to researching ingredients and making a few of my own products.
Four years ago, I discovered coconut oil on the recommendation of a local naturopath who convinced me that was all I needed to nourish and hydrate my body from the outside in.
I was skeptical at first but after a short time I could see my skin was moisturised and smoother, the flaky, itchiness was gone and both my skin and hair had sheen and lustre…finally! Intrigued to find out more, my father and I embarked on a research crusade around coconut oil and it’s composition and health benefits and discovered why it was that island communities have embraced it for generations as a health and beauty elixir.
I started researching ingredients and reading labels and was shocked when I saw and understood the ingredients contained in many of our mainstream beauty and baby products. I made it a priority to ensure that Coconut Tree products were completely free from these known harsh and harmful ingredients.
Finally, it all came together and we created this simple essentials range that is suitable for everyone in the family. We have harnessed the natural powers of coconut oil and combined it with premium, natural ingredients to deliver a highly effective natural essentials range which we hope to continue to expand upon in response to our customers needs.
This is the story behind Coconut Tree. We hope that you find our products a delight to use and that they become a part of your healthy lifestyle.
