Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most main ingredient in the Coconut Tree range?
Certified organic, cold pressed, pure, raw coconut oil
Why do you use coconut oil in all your products?
Coconut oil is one of nature’s great beauty elixirs. It is an excellent skin conditioner containing medium-chain triglycerides which deeply penetrate, moisturise and act as a protective barrier against the aging effects of environmental and free radical damage. It absorbs quickly and helps skin retain moisture, promotes skin elasticity and keeps it looking young and supple and radiant.
Because it is packed full of nutrients and fatty acids like lauric and capric acids and vitamins including vitamin K and E (an essential nutrient for skin and hair), coconut oil provides a rich supply of antioxidants and beneficial goodies for healthy, strong skin and hair.
Coconut oil also helps to promote protein hair regrowth by penetrating deep into each hair, getting past the cuticle, repairing and preventing damage from the inside out – making it stronger and leaving it thicker, fuller and shinier. For your information click on ‘Why we love coconut’
What’s special about your coconut oil?
After testing many oils, we selected a premium oil that is bursting with fresh coconut taste and aroma. Coconut Tree use only pure, certified organic, unrefined oil has been produced from mature fresh coconuts harvested in the South Pacific. This Certified Organic (by NASAA) virgin coconut oil has been hand pressed and processed by Direct Micro Expelling (DME), an Australian technology enabling the fastest processing in order to retain the goodness of fresh coconuts. Our packaging is made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) – highly recyclable plastic. “The most recycled plastic material is PET. This is because of its wide spread use in carbonated soft drinks and also its unique ability to be recycled from bottle to bottle. PET is 100% recyclable. Due to the worldwide demand in PET use for Carbonated Soft Drinks and other beverages, recycling facilities for PET far exceed any other plastic. The demand for recycled PET also ensures that the recycling rate remains high and therefore makes PET the most environmentally friendly plastic in the world.

What’s the story behind Coconut Tree?
I have always had a vested interest in health and wellbeing. Having been raised in Perth and spending my whole life in sunny beach locations across WA and Qld, I have had to balance my love of the sun and the surf with protecting my fair, sensitive skin.
I have always therefore been mindful of trying to protect and heal my skin from the effects of the Australian climate. Having the same issues as my father, we realised that in our quest to find natural, effective body and hair care products we had both spent a massive amount of time and money investing in products that we had hoped would nurture, nourish and protect and that didn’t include harsh, toxic ingredients ….that we would enjoy using every day.
After using pure coconut oil as a skin and hair moisturiser on the recommendation of a local naturopath, we were both surprised and delighted to find that it was more effective than any of the commercial, formulated products we had used. Intrigued to find out more, we began to research the qualities and composition of coconut oil and discovered just why it was so effective and why island communities have embraced it for generations for total body health and as a beauty elixir.
As I had become more aware of the toxic ingredients that were incorporated in my family’s every day skin and hair products and of the health implications on many many people, I started reading labels and made it a priority to understand ingredients. I then began to incorporate more natural and organic products into my family’s regime. It then became obvious to me that there was a need for more quality, naturally derived skin and hair products on the market that were simple, effective and accessible.
Our experience with coconut oil and our search for the products we needed led us to believe that there was a need for clean products that harnessed the natural powers of coconut oil and premium, natural ingredients to deliver a highly effective and user friendly skin and hair range.
This is the story behind Coconut Tree. We hope that you find our products a delight to use and that they become a part of your healthy lifestyle.
