Vitamins, Minerals + Antioxidants

Coenzyme Q10

An absolute skin care essential.  Also known as ubiquinone, it is a vitamin present in all human cells and is responsible for cell protection and production of the body’s energy.  In skin, it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin which help to repair oxidative damage and make sure the skin cells are healthy.

In addition to boosting collagen production, it also boosts skin cell activity and helps to rid cells of toxins easily and better utlise nutrients for younger looking skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Naturally found in the body, hyaluronic acid secures moisture and creates fullness—youthful skin naturally contains high levels of hyaluronic acid.  As we age, skin moisture can drop significantly, which makes the skin lose elasticity and expose the signs of aging on the skin. Hyaluronic acid plays a critical role in skin health with its unique ability to hold in moisture.  It can adjust its moisture absorption rate based on the humidity—relative to the season and the climate. Because hyaluronic acid adds moisture to the skin, and helps it retain that moisture, from skin’s uppermost layers down to its dermis layer, it can have the effect of temporarily plumping wrinkles and fine lines.

Kakadu Plum

The Kakadu plum grows in Arnhem Land in northern Australia and has been used by indigenous Australians for thousands of years as an antiseptic and skin healer as well as a bushfood.  Science has identified it as the world’s richest natural source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is an excellent ingredient in skincare products as it is a powerful antioxidant and essential nutrient to help slow the aging process as it is essential in the process of forming collagen. It helps to reduce wrinkles, improves skin texture and elasticity and enhances brightness and luminosity.

Panthenol (Vitamin B5)

Panthenol has a unique ability of penetrating deep into the hairs cortex.  It naturally creates a film of moisture on the hair shaft, giving the hair added protection.  Panthenol’s ability to regulate moisture content, whilst increasing resistance to damage and brittleness, makes it a wonderful moisturising ingredient for hair.

Quandong

The desert Quandong is a unique shiny red Australian fruit found widely throughout the desert areas of Southern Australia. Quandong has been used by indigenous communities for centuries and is now being recognized for its powerful bio-actives & anti aging benefits.

Quandong has 130 times more antioxidant activity than goji berries and active ingredients include Phenolic Acids and Flavonoid Glycosides – Rutin, strong antioxidants that help reduce the creation of free radicals. Antioxidants in skincare protect the skin from breaking down and ageing.

The antioxidant activity of Phenolic Acid is considered stronger than that of Vitamin E, making it an excellent skin healer.

This superstar ingredient can be found in our Coconut Every Night Face Moisturiser

Tamarind Seed Extract

Provides hydration and healing qualities for stressed hair.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is both a nutrient and antioxidant that protects and repairs the skin.  Antioxidants neutralize free radicals and prevent cellular damage from occurring. Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants

Zinc Oxide

Natural mineral used as a thickening, whitening, lubricating, and sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. Zinc oxide is considered to have no risk of skin irritation and is one of the safest ingredients for protecting the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) rays. UV rays penetrate the skin and damage tissue, speeding up the aging process, drying the skin out and increasing the risk of skin cancer.  Zinc oxide filters out UV rays, keeping them from penetrating the skin and causing cell damage.
